AAN 2021 | Advantages of intracranial vessel wall imaging

Direct vessel wall visualization has become increasingly popular in recent years, with the use of high-resolution intracranial vessel wall MR imaging expanding in clinical practice. John Leever, MD, University of Kansas Health System, Kansas City, KS, talks on the benefits of vessel wall imaging. This technique allows full characterization of vessel wall disease and differentiation between various causes of arterial stenosis, which conventional imaging methods are unable to do. Dr Leever also discusses how this technique may evolve in the future to widen its applicability. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
