MDS 2020 | Alpha-synuclein PET tracers to detect Parkinson’s disease

Kathleen Poston, MD, PhD, Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, CA, talks on alpha-synuclein positron emission tomography (PET) tracers to detect Parkinson’s disease. The ability to measure Parkinson’s disease’s biomarkers, including alpha-synuclein in the brain, would transform Parkinson’s disease research. Although this technology is not yet ready for clinical or research use, Dr Poston believes great progress will be made soon. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology).
