AAN 2022 | ApoE in Alzheimer’s disease: knowns and unknowns

Farid Rajabli, PhD, University of Miami, Miami, FL, discusses the role of the ApoE gene in Alzheimer’s disease and ongoing investigations to expand our understanding. ApoEε4 is the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer’s disease, making it an important putative therapeutic target. Technological advancements and study diversification have provided valuable new insights into the genetics of Alzheimer’s disease, but many questions remain including its mechanisms in relation to disease and how it interacts. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
