Claire Riley, MD, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York, NY, shares the thoughts on the greatest unmet needs currently being faced in the field of multiple sclerosis (MS). Dr Riley feels that while great strides have been made in controlling relapses, much more work is needed to reach the same milestones in progressive MS. The highest priority for MS research in the coming years must be improving understanding of primary and secondary progressive MS and devising strategies to combat it.
