AAN 2021 | What does a healthy brain look like when it’s sleeping in relation to optimal cognitive performance?

Logan Schneider, MD, Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, CA, discusses a study exploring the relationships between slow wave sleep, electroencephalographic power spectra during sleep and overnight verbal memory retention in older adults. Findings revealed a novel association between slow oscillations and memory retention in elderly adults. Dr Schneider outlines other studies in the field.
