Charles H. Adler, MD, PhD, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Scottsdale, AZ, discusses the potential of the seeding assay RT-QuIC for diagnosing Parkinson’s disease in living patients. By using blood, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or saliva samples, RT-QuIC can localize and quantify alpha-synuclein to be utilized as a biomarker.
