CONy 2022 | Extending the utility of MRI in MS

Nicola De Stefano, MD, PhD, University of Siena, Siena, Italy, comments on the future applications of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in multiple sclerosis (MS). Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning can analyze large sets of data from MRI scans and classify patients with MS based on various subtypes and disease progression. Based on the data, AI can consequently predict treatment response and Prof. Stefano highlights the need to further develop this technology. This interview was conducted during the 2022 World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) meeting.
