Didier Leys, MD, PhD, FAAN, FEAN, University of Lille, Lille, France, outlines developments in stroke management. In the last few years, there has been a lot of progress in the management of acute cerebral ischemia with the introduction of thrombectomy, which has impacted the organization of stroke care. In addition, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has progressively replaced previous methods used to guide treatment decisions and has enabled quicker and improved stroke care.
