Liborio Parrino, PhD, Università degli Studi di Parma, Parma, Italy, talks on the downfalls of current insomnia management practices. Cognitive-behavioral treatments are considered the standard of care first-line strategy for insomnia, and while it is associated with benefits in certain scenarios, more efficacious options are needed. Prof. Parrino discusses the need to modernize the whole framework of sleep management and develop new sleep metrics to enable new tools to have an impact. This interview took place at the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology congress 2021.
