IHC 2021 | The CEFALY device: an external trigeminal nerve stimulator

Deena Kuruvilla, MD, Westport Headache Institute, Westport, CT, discusses the use of the CEFALY device developed for the treatment and prevention of migraine. The device uses a form of external trigeminal nerve stimulation and is placed over the forehead to superficially stimulate branches of the trigeminal nerve. During the International Headache Congress 2021, Dr Kuruvilla focuses on the treatment of acute migraine with the CEFALY device and how it may be useful in modulating the pain pathway that causes migraine. This interview took place during the International Headache Congress 2021.
