AAN 2021 | The dystonias: clinical features and treatment

Marta San Luciano, MD, University of California San Francisco Medical Center, CA, discusses the clinical spectrum of dystonia and difficulties in its management. Dystonia is a movement disorder characterized by uncontrollable muscle contractions. There are many types of dystonia, with differences in cause, affected areas, and likelihood of spreading. Dr San Luciano talks on the challenges of appropriate diagnosis and choosing the optimal treatment for an individual patient. This interview took place during the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) 2021 Annual Meeting.
