Laszlo Csiba, MD, PhD, DSci, University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary, comments on the utility of carotid ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of carotid artery stenosis. Whilst only the neck region can previously be examined with carotid ultrasound, recent developments in transcranial doppler (TCD) ultrasound and internal carotid artery velocity measurements have enabled clinicians to gather more information in the neck and carotid area. Ultrasound can also cheaply monitor changes the progress of stenosis and greyscale median GSM. This interview was conducted during the 2022 World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) meeting.
