CONy 2020 | New anti-epileptic drugs: tolerability and specificity

Andreas Schulze-Bonhage, MD, PhD, University Medical Center Freiburg, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, discusses the benefits of new anti-epileptic drugs. The new drugs are better tolerated than traditional treatments for epilepsy. Considering that epilepsy is a chronic condition, the tolerability of a drug is important. There is also evidence from comparative trials, that for focal epilepsy, modern drugs have better long-term outcomes than traditional ones. This interview took place during the Virtual World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy) 2020.
