The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) has established a nationwide network of Centers of Excellence. These clinics provide leading patient care through a multidisciplinary approach, with teams of neurologists, psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and counselors. Arik Johnson, PsyD, Huntington’s Disease Society of America, comments on the value of a ‘one stop shop’ for patients and their families, where they can receive personalized, comprehensive care throughout their disease course. Additionally, the HDSA Centers of Excellence conduct high-quality clinical research which patients can access. Huntington’s disease is characterized by substantial symptom heterogeneity and thus, having an expert multidisciplinary team provides patients with the best opportunities for optimized care. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology).
