Gisela Terwindt, MD, PhD, Leiden University, Leiden, Netherlands, talks on the future of biomolecular migraine research, such as studying sex hormones, particularly in females, and looking at the relationship between migraine and lipids. Prof. Terwindt describes biomarker studies focusing on lipid profiles and highlights the importance of these studies when studying the comorbidities of migraines, such as the increased risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. This interview took place during the International Headache Congress 2021.
