Elizabeth Coon, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, describes advances and upcoming developments in synucleinopathies such as multiple system atrophy (MSA). Despite nomenclature-related issues, improvements in the understating of alpha-synuclein aggregation has led to enhanced diagnosis and treatment of MSA and has enabled clinicians to differentiate MSA from other conditions such as Lewy body disorders. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
