ISC 2023 | Using advanced imaging in daily stroke practice

James E. Siegler, MD, Cooper Neurological Institute, Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ, shares his thoughts on the value of advanced imaging for patient selection in acute ischemic stroke management. Imaging protocols vary across centers, according to resource availability, with CT perfusion and diffusion weight MRI often being unavailable. Dr Siegler notes that while advanced imaging can provide useful prognostic information on potential treatment effect modifiers, its use is not typically necessary for medical decision making. This interview took place during the International Stroke Conference (ISC) 2023 in Dallas, TX.
