AAN 2024 | Endovascular thrombectomy news to look out for

Hazem Shoirah, MD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY, highlights news to look out for regarding endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). This includes the ENDOLOW clinical trial (NCT04167527), which investigates the efficacy of EVT in patients with low NIHSS scores (0-5) and proximal large vessel occlusion. He also discusses potential changes to the treatment guidelines to improve access to EVT for patients with distal occlusions, and new devices that help to overcome the limitations associated with treatment of distal occlusions. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting 2024 in Denver, CO.
