EAN 2021 | MS research from EAN 2021

Massimo Filippi, MD, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy, discusses work from his research group on multiple sclerosis (MS) and related disorders presented at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) 2021 congress. Research has focused on identifying magnetic resonance (MR) biomarkers of MS in the spinal cord to monitor disease evolution, using genetic analysis to identify the most appropriate patients for second-line MS treatment. Additionally, Prof Filippi highlights research projects on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia, and Parkinson’s disease to monitor and predict disease spread in the brain, using mathematical modeling. This interview took place during the EAN 2021 congress.
