AAN 2024 | Exciting developments in sleep research

Karin Johnson, MD, University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate, Springfield, MA, briefly discusses exciting developments in sleep research. The growing understanding that sleep is central to general health has led to an increased number of studies in the area; however, sleep research is a relatively novel field with many unanswered questions remaining. New drugs are being tested for patients with sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea and narcolepsy, and will hopefully provide them with a greater range of treatment options. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting 2024 in Denver, CO.
