James Clement, PhD, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India, discusses the future steps in autism spectrum disorder treatment using gene therapy. Preclinical studies using animal models displaying autism-like traits have shown that directly altering gene expression can reverse the behavioral phenotype. This interview took place during the 34th International Epilepsy Congress, 2021.
