The Axon Registry is the American Academy of Neurology’s clinical data registry that reports and analyzes electronic health record data from participating neurology providers in the US. Shrujal Baxi, MD, MPH, Verana Health, San Francisco, CA, discusses the national representativeness of the Axon Registry. The registry has the potential to accurately capture race, ethnicity, and other socio-economic factors, which would improve our current understanding of whether differences in outcomes that patients are experiencing are due to biological, environmental, or socio-economic factors. Identifying such factors enables the development of interventions to alleviate them and drives improvements in the care of neurology patients. This interview took place at the American Academy of Neurology 2022 Congress in Seattle, WA.
