Clinicians should be aware that dysphagia or other gastrointestinal manifestations are common in most myopathies. Dysphagia is the most frequent symport. It is extremely important to recognize the presence of swallowing difficulties early since malnutrition or dehydration can be associated with reduced quality of life. Additionally, dysphagia may lead to aspiration and therefore jeopardize respiratory safety. This interview took place during the XXV World Congress of Neurology.
