Updates in isolated RBD

Isolated RBD (iRBD) has been established as REM sleep behavior disorder without an associated neurodegenerative condition. However, RBD is commonly regarded as a prodromal stage of progressive neurodegenerative disease; within a patient’s lifetime, there is a very high chance that individuals with iRBD will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, multiple system atrophy, or dementia with Lewy bodies.

With an understanding that iRBD can provide foresight into the development of potential future neurodegenerative diseases, it is of utmost importance to utilize current and new technologies to target the prevention of further neurodegeneration. From predicting disease progression through biomarkers and artificial intelligence (AI) to developing modes of prevention via disease-modifying therapies – this podcast will provide recent updates on iRBD presented at the World Sleep Congress 2022 in Rome, Italy.

Delve into the minds of leading authorities Mitchell Miglis, MD, Stanford University; Matteo Cesari, PhD, Medical University of Innsbruck; Aleksander Videnovic, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School; and Shady Rahayel, PhD, Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, McGill University – as they discuss current updates on iRBD.
