Transfer protocols are being revised to improve access to thrombectomy for patients. The flying intervention team, direct to mothership angiography suite, and mothership expert to patient are models being assessed for their feasibility and effectiveness, compared to the conventional drip-and-ship model. In addition to this, mobile stroke units are being increasingly studied and implemented for their prehospital stroke diagnosis and treatment capabilities.
